How the Auction Works

  • Manufacturers exhibiting at the ABC Kids Expo are asked to donate products for a silent auction that will benefit the programs and services at First Candle.
  • Auction items can include a product or group of products with a minimum wholesale value of $100.
  • Auction items will be displayed at your exhibit booth. Easels with poster boards displaying the product photo, description and bid sheet will be set up at the front of the booth.
  • The auction and donated items will be marketed to all show participants beginning in mid August to encourage them to visit each participating booth and bid on their favorite items.
  • The auction will close at the networking reception on September 9th.
  • Winners of the auction items will be announced at the end of the show.
  • The cost of shipping the product(s) to the winning bidder should be included with the donation.
  • First Candle is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Because you will receive no goods or services in return, all donations will be fully tax-deductible.
  • First Candle will notify you of the winning bidder’s contact information as soon as the payment has been processed.

Auction Item Ideas

From furniture and accessories to the latest fashion trends, the sky is the limit! The bidders will be your potential buyers, so be creative and showcase your unique and creative products. How about a complete nursery set, a group of “must haves” for mom or a “lot” of your top selling product?
 
A photo and description of all auction items will be compiled into an online auction catalog and distributed electronically to all exhibitors and show participants prior to the show.
