First Candle Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement with #GivingFirst Camapign

First Candle has joined the Newman’s Own Foundation $500k Holiday Challenge and #GivingTuesday, a fundraising competition on the global day of giving. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. On #GivingTuesday, The Newman’s Own Foundation is awarding $85,000 to the top three organizations to raise the most online this day.

Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

#GivingFirst is First Candle’s year-end campaign of gratitude and awareness fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. #GivingFirst will kick off on #GivingTuesday, November 28, 2017. With 27,000 babies dying each year before their first birthday, we have 27,000 reasons why we put #GivingFirst.  #GivingFirst is an opportunity for First Candle to offer gratitude to our supporters, spread awareness about SIDS, accidental suffocation, and stillbirths, and maximize our donor’s dollars with matching gift programs specifically offered on #GivingTuesday.

#GivingFirst is an online campaign of gratitude, which means you’ll be hearing about it on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. You can follow along by searching the hashtag #GivingFirst on your favorite social media platform. Click here to view the schedule of events being held on #GivingTuesday.

It’s that simple! We hope you will join us in achieving our mission of saving babies and supporting families. Together we can make a difference.
