By joining the 2005 Summits
For Survival team, your gift will go a long way toward helping us reach our
goal of a future where all babies survive and thrive. Pledges can be made in
honor of a special person, event or accomplishment or in memory of a loved
one. Ideas include:
-
Celebrating your healthy
baby’s first birthday or other milestone;
-
Commemorating a special
event in a family member’s life, such as graduation, marriage, first
baby or other significant accomplishment;
-
Memorializing the life of
your precious baby or other beloved individual.
Your gift will help ensure the
availability of nationally funded research projects that will shed light on
causes and/or cures for SIDS, Stillbirth and other causes of infant death;
public and professional educational programs that deliver lifesaving
messages to parents and caregivers, and; compassionate bereavement support
services for those experiencing an infant death.
Second in a series of climbs
to conquer the
Seven Summits of the World, the
2005 climb of Mt. McKinley will be led by world-renowned mountain climber,
Vern Tejas and a team of international
climbers. Upon reaching the 20,300 foot summit, the team will celebrate by
displaying a First Candle banner and dedicating a memory book of names
submitted by surviving family members – in hopes that someday no family will
experience the death of a precious child much too soon.
We hope that everyone who
has been touched by the life of a child will make the Summits campaign a
part of their annual gift-giving efforts through the end of the campaign in
2010.
