Our Safe Sleep Educators

Mary Adkins, RN, MSW

Mary served as Program Director for Tomorrow’s Child for 15 years, addressing infant safe sleep and bereavement services for families experiencing stillbirth and infant death.  A frequent trainer for professionals and communities, she has also served as an infant safe sleep consultant for the National Action Partnership to Promote Sleep Improvement and Innovation Network (NAPPSS-IIN), a cooperative agreement to build a broad coalition to make safe sleep and breastfeeding a national norm. She is a frequent presenter for state and national maternal child conferences.

Tia Ajao, MPH, BSN, LCCE

Taiwo “Tia” Ajao has spent her professional life om maternal and infant care, as a doula and nurse. She is also co-founder, with her husband Wale Ajao, of Hello Baby Baltimore, which provides health communications services and platforms for health professionals to share information.

Jennifer Ciannella, RN, BSN

Jennifer Ciannella has been a registered pediatric nurse for more than 15 years, and is a graduate of the CUNY New York City College of Technology and Chamberlain University.

Jocelyn Gonzalez

Jocelyn has been an advocate for the Hispanic community for more than 20 years.  She has worked as a medical Spanish interpreter, helping Hispanic clientele navigate the hospital system, and identifying resources for health, education, multi-services facilities and social assistance. She also works with local organizations, incorporating knowledge of the Hispanic community and neighborhoods into educational programs about HIV/STDs, substance abuse prevention, and domestic violence. 

Allison Glover

Allison Glover is a Community Health Educator who trains parents, grandparents, childcare providers, doctors, nurses, social workers, first responders and other audiences about SIDS Risk Reduction Measures.  She is also a SIDS parent who lost her first son, Garrett, to SIDS in May of 2000.
